Initial Website Design Meeting
We are located in Bolton, Greater Manchester and we like to arrange an initial meeting with clients to discuss their website design needs. During this meeting we can discuss what you need from your website, most websites fall into one of these following categories :
- E-commerce Website – Store for selling goods.
- Business Website – Information website about business.
- Portfolio Website – Display media or products you create.
- Nonprofit Website – Charity websites.
Each of these websites are made to display information to visitors, sell products and services and show potential customers what your business offers. If you would like to update your website using a Content Management System (CMS) then we can discuss the different CMS options which we currently work with. We can assist you on choosing many different website design options, such as static or dynamic websites, having a CMS and discuss media and content creation.
We are happy to work with businesses from further afield as this discussion can easily be carried out over emails or a telephone call. Contact us to get a project started today.
Our Design Process
Website Design Framework
Once we have gathered information about your business from an initial meeting we can start the design process. We will start by building a framework, a framework is a very basic website with little to no design elements. The framework will be a working website which contains the main elements, such as navigation, content areas and forms. Image placeholders will normally be used instead of images. The framework helps understand how users will navigate through your website, this is crucial to gaining successful conversions.
Adding the website Design elements.
Once we have established a working framework we can move on to the design. The website design will add in images and design elements to display your content in a creative way to visitors. We will work with a colour palette which complements your business. During this process we will give you access to a development area where you can see the design start to come alive and gather feedback from you about the design.
Once the website design is nearing completion we can start to add your content. If you have asked us to create the website content then we will plan, research and create your content. If you are creating your own content then we will give you access to your website so that you can start to add your content.
Revision and Deployment
At this stage we will discuss any design revisions which you would like to carry out on the website. Ideally we would sit down and go through the website to confirm the website works as you expect. Once both parties are happy with the website we will deploy the website on your hosting if you already have website hosting. If you are using one of our hosting plans, we will deploy the website and put your website live so visitors can start to find your business and services.
More Information about Website Development
We have added some more information below about some of the different areas of website development which will needed to be considered for any project.
Static or Dynamic?
Static or Fixed Websites
Static websites are much easier to build compared to dynamic websites. Examples include brochure websites which displays information about what your business offers. Static websites are a great way to showcase your business online if your business offers services which do not regularly change. Static websites are usually standard HTML and do not have a Content Management System (CMS) on the back-end.
A dynamic website will display different content each time it is visited. Examples include blogs and eCommerce sites which normally built with a CMS. Dynamic websites can also be set up to show different content to different users, at different times of the day etc. Dynamic websites make for a more personal and interactive experience for the user, although they can be a little more complex to develop compared to static websites.
Content Management System
Having a CMS can make adding content to your website much easier to manage and update. WordPress is one of the most popular CMS options which websites are built using, we have created many websites using WordPress. We have even built our website using WordPress and Timber.
Media and Website Content
Websites need creative media and great website content. If you already have images, video and content on an existing website then we can take this and enter it into a fresh website design. We can also help you create content for your website design and will carry out research into your business. By creating great website content you can help drive your website up the Google rankings.
Responsive Website Design
We build all our websites so that they are responsive, this means that the website will display differently on mobile, tablet and desktop screens. Mobile phones have made it much easier to access websites, if your website is not responsive then it could cause you to lose potential customers if they leave your website to find information elsewhere.
