I have finally got round to updating and redesigning my DJ website. My original website used a Theme which was quick and easy to set up on WordPress but hadn’t had an update in over 5 years so I decided to finally give it a facelift.

DJ Broadhurst has been a professional DJ for over 10 years playing in some of Manchester’s finest restaurants and bars. Playing open format he can adapt to play a wide range of music to create an upbeat party atmosphere.

DJ Broadhurst – Home Page

The website uses WordPress CMS and is designed using Timber which enabled me to create a unique website. The home page displays information about the clients Residencies, DJ Mixes, Latest Posts and even incorporates an Instagram feed. The website features a hidden menu which works for desktop, tablet and mobile devices. This also create a clean header area instead of having numerous amounts of links. The latest posts section has been created using square blocks which display the post title when the mouse hovers over a block.

The client wanted an Events page so I used the Events Plugin which makes creating and displaying events on WordPress very simple to manage and update. Another feature was to display collections of work such as DJ Mixes and Productions. The mixes are displayed in a block form which look like records which suits the clients business sector.

Displaying DJ Mixes on Website

The website design is clean and fresh and will enable the client to easily update their information and showcase their ongoing DJ mixes and blog posts.

I carried out the following tasks to get the website online:

  • WordPress Install
  • Genesis Theme Setup and Design.
  • Page Setup & Design
  • HTML & CSS editing.
  • Media Creation
  • Content Creation
